Can this replace my regular prenatal checkups?
No. Our services are not a substitute for prenatal checkups. For your safety, they are intended for patients who continue to receive regular prenatal checkups at their primary obstetric provider.
From how many weeks of pregnancy can I have an ultrasound?
Because we use transabdominal ultrasound (performed over the belly), our scans are available from around 10 weeks of pregnancy onward.
Do you offer 3D/4D ultrasound? Can you detect fetal abnormalities?
Our service is designed around a relaxed at-home experience. Due to the nature of portable ultrasound, we do not offer 3D/4D imaging, detailed fetal screening, or definitive diagnosis. The purpose of our visits is to check and share your baby's heartbeat, position, estimated weight, and amniotic fluid volume together with your family.
Will I receive the ultrasound photos and videos?
Yes. On the same day as your session, we provide the images and videos in a smartphone-friendly format that you can easily share with family and friends.
Can you tell us the baby's sex? (Or keep it a secret?)
Yes — if it can be seen on the ultrasound, we will tell you. If you would rather keep it a surprise (for a gender reveal party, or until the birth), just let us know when you book and we will do our best to keep it hidden.
Home-Visit IV Therapy for Morning Sickness
What does the home-visit IV therapy service include?
A doctor visits your home and, after an interview and examination, provides IV therapy as needed. We assess dehydration, the severity of nausea, food and fluid intake, urination frequency, and your overall condition to determine whether home care is appropriate.
Will an IV drip cure my morning sickness?
IV therapy can help relieve dehydration and general discomfort, but it is not a cure for morning sickness or hyperemesis gravidarum itself. Depending on the severity of your symptoms, blood tests, urine tests, or inpatient treatment at a medical facility may be necessary.
What kind of IV drip do you administer?
After assessing your symptoms and overall condition, the doctor administers the IV therapy they judge necessary. The contents are decided based on the degree of dehydration, food and fluid intake, medical history, allergies, and gestational age.
From how many weeks can I receive home-visit IV therapy?
You can consult us from early pregnancy, as soon as morning sickness begins. However, depending on gestational age, whether an intrauterine pregnancy and fetal heartbeat have been confirmed, and your symptoms, we may first direct you to your primary OB-GYN or an emergency department.
Can you check my baby's heartbeat during the IV visit?
Yes. When needed, or upon request, we can perform a fetal heartbeat check by ultrasound. Please note that depending on gestational age, body build, the orientation of the uterus, and the baby's position, the heartbeat may not always be visible on transabdominal ultrasound.
Does the heartbeat check tell me whether my baby is doing well?
The heartbeat check is a simple confirmation of whether a fetal heartbeat can be detected at the time of the visit. It is not intended to diagnose miscarriage, screen for fetal abnormalities, provide detailed fetal testing, or replace prenatal checkups. If an abnormality is suspected or a diagnosis is needed, we will refer you to your primary obstetric provider.
Are there any risks or side effects with IV therapy?
IV therapy can involve vein pain, bruising, swelling, leakage of fluid outside the vein, feeling unwell, vasovagal reactions, or allergic reactions. In rare cases where symptoms worsen or additional tests or treatment are needed, we will direct you to a medical facility.
Preparing for Your Home Visit
Do I need to prepare anything at home?
No special preparation is needed. Simply have a place where you can lie back comfortably, such as a bed or sofa. We bring everything else, including towels for wiping off the ultrasound gel.
Can my partner, children, or parents join the session?
Of course! The whole family is welcome to watch your baby together. Share the joy of new life with everyone in the relaxed setting of your own home.
Which areas do you serve?
We mainly serve the 23 wards of Tokyo and the cities of Yokohama and Kawasaki in Kanagawa. For other areas (western Tokyo, Chiba, Saitama, etc.), visits may be possible with a separate quote — feel free to ask via our booking page.
Booking & Payment
How do I pay? Do I need cash on the day?
Payment is by credit card only (processed via Stripe). The base fee is paid in advance when you book, and the travel fee is charged to the same card after the visit. No cash is needed on the day.
Can you visit late in the evening, after work?
Yes, we can. Please note that for appointments starting at 8:00 pm or later, a night surcharge of 20% is added to the total (base fee + travel fee).
Can I cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Yes. However, because visits require advance arrangements, cancellations after a certain point may incur a fee in accordance with our Cancellation Policy. Please see the Cancellation Policy page for details.
Do you serve international patients?
Yes, absolutely. Medical interpretation services are also available. Please ask us for details when you book.
Can I book even when I am feeling very unwell?
If you have bleeding, severe abdominal pain, a feeling that your water may have broken, or a marked change in fetal movement, please contact your primary obstetric provider first. Our home-visit ultrasound and IV therapy are not emergency services. When necessary, we will direct you to your primary provider.
